The award winning educational and community web site, blackhistory.com announced today the premiere of its new Educator's Resource Center. The center will introduce a new series of dynamic cultural and historical Multi-media presentations five minutes or less in length that teachers may use to introduce black history and diversity issues. These Free downloadable presentations are designed to provoke conversation and discussion among middle school and high school students. Included are Free PDF files of discussion questions essay assignments, hands-on and research projects, and a grading rubric.
The Educators Resource Center is located as part of the blackhistory.com web site, and may be found by going to www.blackhistory.com. These materials are under written by Corporate Sponsors so that they may be offered to teachers and organizations free of charge, said Linda Langs, Publisher of the site.
"Last year we heard from many teachers, churches, and non-profit organizations who were looking for fresh, focused, quality materials that they could use in the classroom." Langs said. "Teachers particularly face a tough challenge in trying to introduce fresh educational materials on black history when their available classroom time is so limited. We've tried to tailor these programs so that they may be used as part of a standard curriculum or as a team teaching approach. The variety of activities should be able to appeal to all learning styles and interests."
